Subscriptions
How does the free trial work?
Start 7 days free from the Premium screen. You will not be charged during the trial. When it ends the plan you chose starts automatically, unless you cancelled at least 24 hours before.
How do I cancel?
On iPhone: Settings › your name › Subscriptions › Nightale › Cancel. On Android: open Google Play, tap your profile, then Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. You keep Premium until the end of the period you already paid for.
I paid but the app still says Free.
Open Profile and tap Restore Purchases while signed in to the same Apple or Google account you bought with. If it still does not unlock, email us the date of purchase and we will check the receipt on our side.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google, not by us. On iPhone go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, find Nightale and choose Request a refund. On Android use your Google Play order history.
Does one subscription work on all my devices?
Yes, on every device signed in to the same Apple or Google account. Install Nightale, then tap Restore Purchases.
Listening
How do I set the sleep timer?
On the player, tap the moon icon in the bottom bar. Choose 15, 20, 30 or 45 minutes, an hour, or End of story. The narration fades out gently when the time is up, and the app remembers where you were.
Can I keep the ambient sounds playing after the story?
Yes. Open the mixer (the rain icon on the player), turn on Delayed Ending, and the ambience carries on after the narration stops.
How do I listen offline?
With Premium, tap the download icon on any story page. Downloads live in Library › Downloads and play with no connection. Downloads are removed if your subscription ends.
Where did my progress go?
Progress, saved stories, streak and badges are stored on your device. Deleting the app clears them. Your subscription is safe: it is tied to your store account and can always be restored.
The story will not play or keeps buffering.
Stories stream from our servers, so check your connection first. If you are on Wi-Fi with a good signal and it still stalls, force-quit the app and open it again. If the problem stays, tell us which story and what phone you have.
Reminders and account
How do I change or turn off the bedtime reminder?
Profile › Settings › Bedtime reminder. You can move the time, pick the nights, or switch it off. If you never see a reminder, check that notifications for Nightale are allowed in your phone's Settings.
How do I change my name?
Profile › Settings › Your name. The name stays on your device and is never sent to us.
How do I delete my data?
Delete the app to remove everything stored on your device. To also remove the anonymous account and its subscription record from our servers, email us and quote the account id shown in Settings › About. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
